Guardate cosa fanno i nostri colleghi teteschi.
Alcune differenze importanti, fra cui il fatto (spiacevole?
ragionevole?) di pagare per i workshop (ma non per la conferenza).
Interessante il confronto, comunque.
Se qualche italiano ci va, e ci riferisce, fa cosa buona e giusta.

The German speaking Open Source GIS community meets from April 1st
through 4th 2008 in Freiburg, Germany to the yearly conference and fair.

The final program is no available and the organizing committee is happy
to invite you to register.

44 Presentations will be held in technical, community, research,
scientific and business blocks. Presentations are held by FOSSGIS
practitioners and address both developers and decision maker. Topics
cover all walks of geo life starting with reports from the fast growing
community project OpenStreetmap then running allong Ruby on Rails and
stretching to ministerial success stories about completely FOSS based
spatial data infrastructures.

This year's workshop program introduces the software projects
OpenLayers, Mapbender, kvwmap, GRASS, QGIS, gvSIG, deegree, UMN
MapServer and GeoServer. Thematic workshops cover geo portal solutions,
sensor GIS and a full scale SDI on a Live-CD.

Workshop fees are €80,- per attendee and will as in the last years help
to fund the conference.

Throughout the conference the sponsoring companies will operate booths
in the exhibition area to highlight the latest technology, show new
products and solutions and talk business. The social event will take
place in the Wodanhalle on the first day of the conference (Tuesday,
April 1st).
