[Gfoss] Il wms e' gia' uno uno standard per inspire ?

Approfitto della citazione della pagina wiki sui requisiti WMS per
porre una domanda su una questione che riguarda Inspire.

Da un po' di tempo mi sto dedicando alle specifiche inspire, e
attualmente mi sto' dedicando al documento che cito di seguito:

In questo documento, una delle cose che vengono messe in risalto, e'
che ancora non e' stato deciso a livello europeo con quale protocollo
trasportare le informazioni, e quindi come i sistemi dovranno
interloquire tra di loro.
Per cui oltre al protocollo HTTP/GET + HTTP/POST viene evidenziato che
si potrebbe anche alla fine optare per il SOAP/WSDL ( a tale scopo
viene citato il progetto europeo orchestra).

Una chiara citazione in questo senso di puo' vedere a pagina 10 del
documento succitato.

Ne riporto un estratto:

Per come la capisco io, se alla fine il gruppo Inspire decide di usare
SOAP/WSDL, si dovra' ancora mettere su un servizio di viewing, come
richiesto da Inspire, ma in tale caso il ricorso ai servizi OGC/WMS
sarebbe molto arduo (sempre fattibile in teoria, ma con molti ritocchi
da fare).
Basta pensare al fatto che attualmente i servers WMS e i client GIS
comunicano esclusivamente in HTTP/GET.

Naturalmente nel documento vengono toccati anche altri aspetti
altrettanto e forse piu' complessi.
Il punto che pero' mi interessa al momento capire e' quanto il WMS sia
al momento uno standard deciso per Inspire. Da quello che leggo sul
documento succitato sembrerebbe che sia deciso a livello di
funzionalita', ovvero, e' certo che ci vuole un servizio per il
viewing, ma con quale modalita' esso debba funzionare non sembra
ancora deciso.

Scusate la prolissita', ma l'argomento e' complesso, e per porre la
domanda dovevo argomentare il mio punto di vista.
