Goal 8 - Open source
Each Local and Regional Authority will consider the use of ICT systems and
 applications developed with an open source license. Other than the concrete
 savings that might be made, the main aims of this concerted policy shall be
 to expand the use of open source software and open standards in the public
 sector to increase eGovernment interoperability nationally and within
 Europe.
