[Gfoss] MySQL vs PostgreSQL\PostGIS SF Implementation

Buon giorno a tutti.
Con riferimento al workshop di Perugia, Ivana Marchesini ha fatto riferimento a 
PostgreSQL\PostGIS nello specifico per il trattamento dei vettoriali

Essendo MySQL uno dei più famosi DBS FREE e visto che atttualmente esiste la possibilità 
di trattare dati geografici vettoriali  qual è la differenza con PostgreSQL\PostGIS?

Da ciò che ho letto, PostgreSQL\PostGIS sembra essere più efficiente e e più completo.

Altre note interessanti riguardo all'implementatione OGC SF dei due DBMS ?
